Meet Amanda (the “bio”)

With fourteen years of portraiture experience and twelve years in her Houston studio, Amanda has become one of Houston’s premier family, senior, and headshot portrait photographers. Her work has been featured in local magazines and industry blogs as well as included on a book cover that was released in the spring of 2019 and multiple published author book jacket photos.

Amanda is a native Houstonian, leaving only to attend The University of Texas at Austin to earn her B.S. in Advertising. Her career began with the acclaimed worldwide advertising agency McCann-Erickson where she worked as an Account Executive on the $14 million Texas Tourism account. She has continued to study marketing and branding, and often serves as a bonus marketing consultant to her personal branding clients. She has also served as a full-time Youth and Family Minister at her church before launching her own business. When she’s not working, she can be found helping with homework, noodling around on the piano, enjoying one of her husband’s culinary creations (and craft cocktails!), and definitely reading a great book.

My Story (the real deal)

“The days are long but the years are short.” As a mom of a 15-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son, I know it’s absolutely true. I’m finding that it’s hard to remember the sweet details and little moments I swore I’d never forget - the way my daughter gazed adoringly at her daddy, the night my son (then three years old) fell asleep on his bedroom floor wearing his bike helmet, the first Christmas in our new house. Try as I might, I can’t stop them from outgrowing their clothes (every three months, it seems), but I CAN preserve each stage through photographic art.

I can’t keep your kids from shooting into the next pants size faster than you can buy them, but I can stop time. For 1/250th of a second at a time, I’ll capture the newborn yawn, the toddler “belly”, the shy gaze of your daughter who’s in a slightly insecure phase…and then we’ll turn it into archival artwork to help you remember each stage of your family’s life. Whether you’re cradling your first newborn in a sleep-deprived haze, watching your newly-licensed driver back out of the driveway ALONE in the car for the first time, launching your high school senior into the big, big world, or just thinking that it’s been too long since you’ve had a photo of the whole family, I’m here to put your memories where they belong - on display, front and center in your home. Let’s do this!
