Boho-inspired details, flower crowns, a gorgeous beaded gown, a lush venue, a couple made for each other…all made for a perfectly romantic, dreamy wedding last fall. Congratulations, Megan & Brandon! Thank you for choosing me to photograph your gorgeous wedding.
Venue: Oak Tree Manor
Flowers: Bramble & Bee
The joining of two people for a lifetime is one of the most beautiful things to witness. Although I don’t photograph many weddings, I was privileged to document Bonnie and Aaron’s small, sweet, intimate seaside ceremony in Galveston, TX. Enjoy your sneak peek and your new life, you two!
A house dressed in fresh flowers and springtime ribbons greeted me when I arrived for a rare shoot – a small, sweet wedding. I’ve made no secret that I don’t photograph weddings, but when clients recommended me for an intimate, at-home ceremony, I couldn’t turn it down. I’m so glad I didn’t. Documenting Sandra and Daniel’s joy as they bound themselves to each other before their family and friends was a gift and an honor. I wish you both all the happiness this world has to offer.
Awaiting the birth of a first child is a magical time. Every new movement, each milestone reached, each itty-bitty baby item purchased or received as a gift is a beautiful reminder that life as you know it is about to change. I know that this little girl whom they will soon meet has already captured their hearts – and soon, she will bless their lives with more love, joy and happiness than they could ever imagine. (Be sure to check out my fave from the session HERE.)

I love Thanksgiving. I love the spirit of gratitude, the moment to pause and reflect on all the blessings of this life. Relatively free from the commercial trappings and gift-giving requirements of most “holidays”, Thanksgiving remains a day of sharing a meal with those you love most, perhaps serving someone else, and taking time to practice gratitude.
In that spirit, I am so incredibly grateful for YOU – clients, future clients, and Facebook fans, from Houston, Cypress, Tomball and beyond, who have supported me with your business, your calls and emails, and your comments. Your support has resulted in healthy growth for my little business this year, which in turn is leading to some VERY exciting things for 2013 (more on that later!). So to say “thank you”, I’m offering a Grateful Gift Certificate Event, starting now! Here are the details:
- On Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22 and 23, your entire gift certificate purchase is DOUBLED (so you buy a certificate for $500, you receive a card in the amount of $1,000), up to a $500 transaction amount.
- On Saturday, Nov. 24, you receive 50% of your transaction amount as a bonus credit (up to $500 transaction amount).
- On Sunday, Nov. 25, you receive 25% of your transaction amount as a bonus credit (up to $500 transaction amount).
Think of what may be coming up soon for your family, or special portrait sessions you may want to book…

One of the photography sites I follow, I Heart Faces, does a monthly photo challenge and this is the first one I’m participating in. Since the theme is “Happiness”, I knew right away which image I wanted to submit – I just took it this past weekend and I can’t help but smile every time I look at it. It makes my heart happy to capture a moment that not only records what a couple looked like at a particular moment in time, but that also gives you, the viewer, a peek into their relationship. There are few things in life more thrilling than being on the cusp of a new life journey, and preparing to join your life with another through marriage is, of course, a huge life journey – full of anticipation, perhaps a few nerves, and whole lot of happiness. So congratulations, Pastor David and soon-to-be Pastor Megan!
PS – the winner of this month’s challenge gets a Canon Rebel T3 camera kit – and since my first little Rebel was either lost or stolen (don’t ask), I’d love to have another one for my personal photo taking, especially when I don’t want to haul “The Beast” around on a simple outing. 🙂
I am used to chasing babies and toddlers, gently posing newborn babies, and watching families have fun piling on top of each other – so when my sweet niece asked me if I would do her engagement photos, I had to pause for a moment. I wanted her to have beautiful engagement photos, and I was a little unsure about my ability to capture the romantic moments of a young couple in love. But we decided to give it a go, and I’m pretty pleased with the results. I hear she was happy, too. 🙂 (And since then, I’ve had the privilege of photographing a few more couples as well!)
