So let them be little,
‘Cause they’re only that way for a while.
Give ’em hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let ’em cry, let ’em giggle,
Let ’em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.
Anyone who has parented a child will attest to how fast the time goes. One minute you are changing diapers and the next you’re packing them up for college (or so I’m told). This beautiful little girl is right in the middle of toddlerhood – I forgot how busy a 16-month-old can be! I know how tempting it can be to wish for the next phase (I thought we would NEVER get out of the emptying the bookshelf/cabinet/Mommy’s purse stage!), but honestly the next thing you know, your wobbly, sign-language-communicating baby is a full-blown kid, riding the bus to kindergarten and walking with a confident swagger that says she is in charge. So Mom and Dad, let her be little! 🙂
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together inside my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Every newborn session I photograph brings a sense of wonder and amazement at the miracle that is new life. How in just 9 short months (unless you’re the one who’s pregnant, then it’s nine LOOOOONG months!), this tiny, incredible human develops from a microscopic mass of cells to become the center of mom and dad’s universe. How in an instant, a family’s life is forever changed, and two people discover a new love that they may have known about but never really knew.
Congratulations you two, on the birth of your beautiful baby girl!!!
